Dawn Martin, DMD, MS, is the co-owner of Progressive Orthodontic Associates in Gainesville
and Lake City, Florida. Dr. Martin is an active member of the American Association
of Orthodontists and its components, the Southern Association and Florida Association
of Orthodontists, as well as numerous professional organizations including the ADA.
She represents the Central District Dental Association on the Florida Dental Association’s
Council on Communications. She received her DMD with high honors from the University
of Florida and completed her MS and Certificate in Orthodontics from Baylor College
of Dentistry.
The Multiloop Edgewise Arch Wire (MEAW) Technique Summary:
The aim of this course is to introduce the MEAW treatment concept and technique as
an alternative to surgical correction of several occlusal discrepancies including
challenging Class III, open bite and asymmetric relationships.
Learning Objectives:
- Defining the MEAW and diagnosing when the MEAW treatment alternative
is appropriate
- Treatment procedure and case presentation utilizing the MEAW treatment
techniques
- Analysis and discussion about results of treatment utilizing this method
Dr. Will Martin is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Departments of Oral and
Maxillofacial Surgery and Prosthodontics at the University of Florida’s College of
Dentistry. He received his DMD with honors from the University of Florida and completed
his MS and Certificate in Prosthodontics from Baylor College of Dentistry. Dr. Martin
joined the faculty at the University of Florida in 1999 and serves as the Clinical
Director of the Center for Implant Dentistry. Dr. Martin is a board-eligible member
of the American College of Prosthodontists. He is a fellow of the International College
of Dentists, International Team for Implantology (ITI) and member of numerous professional
organizations including the Academy of Osseointegration, ADA and FDA. Dr. Martin’s
research interests include implant design and loading protocols, and implant biomechanics.
He maintains a practice limited to Prosthodontics within the Center for Implant Dentistry.
Implant Dentistry for the 21st Century
Summary: Five keys to planning and treating implant patients for esthetic success
will be presented. The course will illustrate how to use current technology and
materials to excel in the esthetic zone.

- Introduction of the ERA patient assessment system
- Understanding how implant design and utilization of provisional
restorations can influence the peri-implant tissue contours
- Understanding site assessment and enhancement procedures and their

technologies and restorative materials
