Dr. Susan McMahon, an author and lecturer enjoys the largest cosmetic dental practice in Western Pennsylvania.  She also

lectures in both the United States and Europe on cosmetic dentistry

and teeth whitening.  Additionally, Dr. McMahon has developed and

licensed an esthetic dental media marketing and practice branding

program.  The program provides practice image, print, radio,

television and internet-ready marketing materials and strategy.  

She is accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry,

a fellow in the International Academy of Dental-Facial Esthetics,

and a fellow in the American Society for Laser Medicine and

Surgery.  She is a past clinical instructor in Prosthodontics and

Operative Dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental

Medicine and a guest lecturer at the University of West Virginia, School of Dentistry.  

A seven-time award winner in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s Annual Smile Gallery, Dr. McMahon has twice been awarded gold medals. She is a graduate of the

University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine.  

Selfie Ready? 3...2...1...Awesome!  Conservative Cosmetic Dentistry for Teenagers and Young Adults

Synopsis: How do we initiate discussions about cosmetic procedures with the “selfie” generation? This course will look at cosmetic dental issues that are of particular concern to our teenage and young adult patients.  Treatment options and step by step treatment procedures will be discussed.      

Learning Objectives:

- Gain an awareness of conservative treatment options for teenager and young adult patients who desire smile enhancements

- Discuss the motivation for cosmetic procedures and how to approach such treatments with the patients and their parents

- Review step-by-step directions for completing these conservative cosmetic treatments

- Review current adhesive systems and materials for these restorations
