Today a playground for movie stars, Provence is a foodie haven with an illustrious history. Known for its many markets, regional specialties - think all things lavender, fleur-de-sel, wine, pottery and more, not to mention its miles of beautiful beaches! Seat of the Popes in the 14th Century, Avignon is now the perfect jumping off point for visits to the region. Enjoy wine tastings in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, visit Provencal markets and prepare lunch with a local chef, tour the Camargue region with its salt marshes and pink flamingos and experience a sound and light show in a limestone quarry. Then it’s off to Aix-en-Provence and a tour and tasting of the local specialty, calisson d'Aix, a wine tasting in the Luberon, home of the Rhone valley and a visit to the red ocher cliffs of Roussillon. Finally, hit the French Riviera with stops in Saint-Tropez and a perfume workshop in the flower capital of Grasse before getting to Nice and its beautiful Promenade des Anglais. Our tour on the Cote d'Azure ends with visits to Cap Ferrat, Eze and Monaco with unforgettable sights and just a little shopping on the side!
